The Acupoint-Massage according to Penzel method (APM) is one of the oldest European meridian therapies. This painless, energetic treatment, without the use of needles, was developed by Willy Penzel in Germany, on the basis of medical knowledge from Asian and European countries.

How does Acupoint-Massage (APM) work?
The body is mended by an overarching system of controls, the meridians. Meridians are pathways in which the body"s own energy "Chi" flows that regulates all of the body"s functions.
This method is geared toward the curative knowledge of Far Eastern medicine, established thousands of years ago, and in which all the body"s systems, such as the nervous or muscle system, are subordinated to the energy flow. The ancient Chinese were convinced that in healthy bodies energy constantly circulates along well-defined pathways, the meridians, similar to, how blood flows in veins or signals along the nervous system, for instance. Thus pain, ailments and diseases are indications that the distribution of Chi energy is out of equilibrium.

How is the Acupoint-Massage conducted?
Treatment begins when a detailed patient-therapist interview is completed and the "energetic condition" is diagnosed. The therapist uses a massage-pen to make gentle strokes along the meridians so that blockages are dissolved. If necessary, the therapist stimulates specific acupoints that act as on/off switches for the energy flow. Alongside meridian therapy, specialized scar care and spinal column therapy are also included in the treatments. It is not uncommon that scars or a sacroiliac joint restriction are causes of a deficient energy flow.
The goal of therapy is to restore the unrestricted energy flow in the entire body.
What does the Acupoint-Massage achieve?
That the body"s own controlling energies begin to flow and that its "internal doctor" is activated. This means that the body begins to repair itself, starting with what it considers most crucial. This type of therapy works on the whole body. Thus several disturbances are automatically affected at the same time.
APM also functions as health care, promotes general well-being and improved performance.
